GREETINGS

Welcome to the First International Women’s Film Festival!
Each day, more women’s names come out in the contemporary cinematography. Women choose this field of art to speak out their world outlook and show their perspective of life. All in all, the World remains the same - as reflected by masters of art.
We do hope that the First International Women’s Film Festival “KIN” will become a one more reason to draw the desired attention to female problems and will establish basis for further development of women’s creative work in Armenia. At the same time, we expect that the Festival will lead towards revealing new talented women, bridge gaps and bring people to a better mutual understanding despite difference in cultures and backgrounds. Finally, we hope that the Festival will give a fresh impulse for opening new creative horizons.

With best wishes,
Mariam Ohanian,
Head of the Festival

Cinema is a great conversation with the world. If women decided to organize a women’s festival, it means that something was missed or was not noticed from this great conversation and now, may be this festival will make it possible “the silence to be heard”.
I wouldn’t like the art to be divided on the gender basis, but if it is – it leaves open spaces. I hope that the First International Women’s Film Festival “KIN” will help to fill the empty spaces.

With best wishes,
Karine Khodikyan,
Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs

A new film festival, a new miracle, like every wok thy film, like cinema, like a woman.
The more festivals we shall have the more dreams will come true, the more opportunities will be created for the viewers to come into live contact with this miracle - to join the world-wide art of cinema. It is very praiseworthy to make a festival that will present a woman – who from the very beginning has been a source for life and inspiration for a man.
And so, - being a miracle she herself becomes creator of a miracle.
